Items not accepted by the mobile service

There are a number of items that cannot be disposed of through the Detox Your Home mobile disposal service. View a list of these products and information on disposal options for these items.

Any of the products in the table below can be taken to a Detox Your Home mobile collection.

As well as the above, the mobile service will accept products you find around your home labelled with the following symbols:

You can take as many of these products as you need to, however containers larger than 20 litres or 20 kg won't be accepted. Please keep original labels on containers and only label containers with known contents - if you're not sure, label the container with 'unknown contents'.

Items NOT accepted by the mobile service

Motor oil	For information on used oil disposal points in your area contact your local council, visit the Recycling Near You website or freecall 1800 353 233.
Chemicals used by businesses for industrial and commercial purposes	Check the Yellow Pages under 'waste reduction and disposal services' for chemical disposal companies or download the list at the bottom of the page.
Farm chemicals	Visit ChemClear website or freecall 1800 008 182 for collection of unwanted rural chemicals.
Waste asbestos	Visit epa.vic.gov.au or call EPA on 03 9695 2722 for advice.
Ammunition	Ammunition should be taken to your local police station for safe disposal.
