Resource recovery funding - Regional Towards Zero Waste Support Program
Stage 2 of the Regional Towards Zero Waste Support Program 2008-11 is now OPEN.
Stage 2 of the Regional TZW Support Program 2008-11 is now OPEN. Sustainability Victoria will assess all full project proposals received by the due date 3 pm Thursday 14 May 2009. Both successful and unsuccessful applicants will be notified following completion of the approvals process.
Successful stage 2 applicants are required to submit a full project proposal using the Regional TZW Support Program 2008-11 full application form, available in the downloads section at the bottom of the page.
Program details
The Regional TZW Support Program 2008-11 will provide funding to projects that reduce waste and increase the recovery of waste from the municipal and household sectors in regional and rural Victoria.
Priorities include:
- kerbside recycling improvements
- green and food organics
- the upgrade of existing material recovery facilities
- public place recycling, including events
- local market development
- the establishment or upgrade of regionally strategic resource recovery infrastructure
- litter and illegal dumping
- priority materials including silage wrap, tyres and timber.
Local government, regional waste management groups, waste industry/private sector waste organisations and community organisations managing municipal waste are encouraged to apply for funding.
There is a two stage process for applying for funding from the program:

Applicants should read the application kit thoroughly before applying to the Regional TZW Support Program to ensure projects address the funding priorities and eligibility criteria.
